Introduction

Welcome — this Privacy Policy explains how Python for Beginners (“the App”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App. By using the App you accept the practices described here.

Information we collect

We limit data collection to what is necessary to run the app and improve user experience. Types of data:

• Local progress data: lecture progress, completion percentages and app settings are stored locally on the device (SharedPreferences on Android / NSUserDefaults on iOS).
• Device information (anonymous): app version and basic device OS version for troubleshooting (only if you opt into crash reporting — see opt-in section).
• No personal identifiers by default: the App does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifiers unless you explicitly provide them (for example, when contacting support).

How we use information

• Save and restore your progress and preferences on the device.
• Provide app features (e.g., dark mode state, lecture completion).
• Aggregate, anonymous analytics only if you opt in — see below.

Local storage & persistence

Progress and settings are stored on your device using local storage (e.g., SharedPreferences). These files remain on the device. They are not uploaded to any server unless you explicitly enable cloud sync or backup features.

Third-party services

The App does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking by default. If you enable optional features (for example crash reporting or cloud sync), we will disclose the specific service and request consent.

Optional crash reporting & cloud sync

If you enable crash reporting or cloud sync, limited data (stack traces, app version, anonymized device info) may be transmitted to the chosen provider (e.g., Firebase). You will be asked for explicit consent before any such data is sent.

Data sharing & disclosures

We will not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

• With your consent (e.g., if you choose to share feedback or attach logs).
• To comply with legal obligations or to protect rights and safety.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect stored data on the device and during transmission for optional features. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure — please exercise caution when storing sensitive information.

Children

The App is intended for a general audience and is not targeted specifically at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child provided us with personal information, please contact us to request deletion.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data you provided. To exercise those rights, contact: contact@midrish.com.ng.

Retention

Local progress data remains on your device unless you clear the app data or uninstall the app. If cloud sync is enabled, retention rules will be shown and you may request deletion.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. If changes are material, we will show a notice in the app and update the "Effective date" at the top.
